Job opening: ESOL Single Point of Contact Manager

Connecting Communities ESOL Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Manager:
(PO4) £38,994 – £41,847 (fixed term for 12 months with possibility for extension)

Born from the borough’s selection as one of only five Integration Area pilots nationally – and the only one in London – Connecting Communities will establish innovative solutions to local needs. In doing so we will empower residents to take the lead in their communities and be the catalyst for change, and provide them with the support and infrastructure required to achieve their ambitions.

The post holder will manage the development and implementation of the new Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for ESOL provision in Waltham Forest.

The SPOC is a core component of the Council’s Connecting Communities delivery plan, and the purpose of this role will be to manage and develop the service. Based at local hubs throughout the borough, the post-holder will be expected to lead or contribute to a wide range of partnerships and English-language provision.

Connecting Communities is more than a programme; it represents a new movement that will impact across the community, council and partners and our local teams will be at the heart of it. We’re looking for people who can not only handle that pressure, but embrace it. This role require proactive and confident individuals who can develop new ideas, challenge perceptions, and identify opportunities working alongside the voluntary and community sector, local residents and services.
